Melanie Ventura is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. Melanie received her Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Melanie is also a certified Nurturing Parent Facilitator through the Family Nurturing Center of The Pacific Northwest.
Melanie provides therapy in English and Spanish to children (as young as age 3), adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She specializes in working with individuals who struggle with medical illnesses, eating disorders, phobias, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She has treated patients in a range of therapeutic settings that include inpatient and outpatient medical facilities and in-home therapy through New Jersey's System of Care (CMO).
Melanie uses a humanistic client-centered approach that utilizes strength-based techniques intertwined with CBT. She also incorporates other modalities based on the client's needs and therapeutic goals, such as Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Her therapeutic style is empathic, non-judgmental, honest, and open-minded. At the center of her practice, Melanie is focused on building trustworthy therapeutic alliances and helping her patients discover their hidden potential to alleviate interpersonal conflicts.
