Megan Melchione is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Megan attended the University of Scranton, in Pennsylvania, to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling and Human Services. She then returned to New Jersey, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Megan has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has successfully helped her patients navigate a variety of life struggles, including low motivation, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, addiction-related issues and trauma, as well adjustment issues in response to external stress. Megan has experience working in partial care, intensive outpatient, and general outpatient settings.
Megan is skilled at creating a genuine, trusting, therapeutic relationship and encouraging a sense of empowerment and self-efficacy with her patients. She strives to help her patients discover their strengths and improve the quality of their lives. Megan recognizes the importance of creating a safe environment in which clients feel secure to express themselves and engage in self-exploration in a manner that is free from judgement. She tends to implement techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness, tailoring her approach to most appropriately and efficiently meet the needs of each individual patient.
