Catherine O’Brien is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who brings a thoughtful, client-centered approach to therapy. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Fine Arts from Marist University, with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her educational background reflects a strong foundation in psychological theory and the creative arts, which she integrates into her therapeutic approach when appropriate.
Catherine provides individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults, as well as couples and families. Throughout her clinical training and professional experience has supported individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of concerns, including mood disorders, developmental disorders, trauma, relational challenges, and personality disorders. She has worked with diverse populations in outpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care, Catherine tailors her work to meet the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family.
