Laurissa Hampton is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of New York. Laurissa obtained her Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. She is also certified as a Level 1 Trauma Professional.
Laurissa has extensive experience in treating adults and adolescents with co-occurring disorders, complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and addiction. Laurissa also has experience working with new mothers who are adjusting to the stress of parenting, motherhood and postpartum depression/anxiety.
Laurissa incorporates a strengths based, whole person approach to help her patients work toward their full potential, while restoring balance in their lives. She incorporates CBT, Mindfulness, DBT and solutions focused techniques, while also working from an attachment theory/psychodynamic foundation. Laurissa supports the personal growth of her patients, at the same time as addressing the root of what is causing them emotional pain.
