Deborah is a graduate practicum trainee, pursuing a Master’s degree in Counseling at New York University. She has completed all prerequisite coursework and is currently accumulating practicum hours under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor at CSP. Deborah has obtained her Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies and Government from Harvard University. She has also obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Deborah offers individual therapy to adolescents and adults of all ages. She uses a holistic, relational approach, employing techniques such as CBT, motivational interviewing and mindfulness when appropriate. Deborah has a particular interest in helping those affected by trauma, as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, and with navigating the challenges of life and relationships.
Deborah feels passionate about the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. Her focus is always on creating a safe, empathic and non-judgmental space where she can help each person move towards a place of greater well-being. Before entering the counseling field, Deborah worked as a family law attorney in New Jersey and for various non-profits in education in the US and Vietnam. She is also a mother of four “young adult” children and has a menagerie of cats and dogs.
